Control Room Physical & Network Security

Our command and control technical experts are intimately familiar with the fact that the majority of agencies and organizations today are required to regularly perform a risk analysis of people and technologies within the operations center. So, when it comes time to implement a control room system design, we’re prepared and fully understand the need to be vetted as a physical security precaution so that you can rest assured all personnel and equipment will be cleared, compliant and air-gapped when possible.

On the network security front, CTI always makes cybersecurity a high-priority design consideration in mission-critical control rooms to safeguard sensitive data, systems, people and operations. By collaborating closely and at the early system design stages with IT administrators, we ensure that the audiovisual integration aligns with broader network security policies. Also stemming from that close collaboration, we’re able to implement robust security protocols when appropriate, such as firewalls, VPN connections, intrusion detection systems, and encryption to safeguard data transmission—in addition to designing for network segmentation strategies, setting up access control measures, and conducting regular security audits in coordination with IT staff.

It’s also important for our design teams to seek out manufacturer partners that have proven to prioritize cybersecurity best practices and safeguards actually built into hardware and software, while also adopting common industry standards and compliance, in order to make the design and integration process much smoother and aligned with network security requirements from the outset.
